Fund Distribution

As a member of the Fund Distribution committee, you represent the people of Lawton-Fort Sill and the surrounding area determine how their contributions to the United Way can best be invested.

During a course of several weeks, you will spend hours looking at the merits and costs of each agency's programs against the backdrop of community needs.  This Fund Distribution process is key to the accountability of the United Way and of each of its partner agencies.  The United Way of Lawton-Fort Sill must remain accountable to its giving public, of which you are a representative.

The United Way is much different from what it was in decades past.  We understand the needs of our society are changing, and the organization must remain responsive.  United Way challenges the community to identify the services needed then asks service providers to insure they meet current and emerging needs.  The Fund Distribution Committee will be challenged to find that delicate balance that allows the organization to continue funding traditional programs while responding to current and emerging needs.

You will also be called upon to make recommendations to the agencies so that they can deliver their services as efficiently as possible.
