Oklahoma Department of Human Services Reaching for the Stars program
The
Stars program is designed to recognize providers who are growing professionally
and providing quality child care in Oklahoma. Every licensed provider
is a One Star provider. However, providers can work up to a One
Star Plus, Two Star, or Three Star status.
The goals of the Stars program are:
- To increase
the training and education of child care providers, thereby improving the overall
quality of care.
- To provide parents
with a method to evaluate child care.
- To increase
the reimbursement that child care providers receive and create new slots for low-income
families.
