Helpline

Help has been available in the Lawton-Fort Sill area since 1970. Helpline was formed when Comanche County Mental Health Association and the Voluntary Action Center merged. In 1995, Helpline became a program under United Way's umbrella.

Helpline is a 24 hour a day 7 days a week community resource, manned by a warm caring voice on the phone. Individuals and families find housing, food, and clothing assistance and hundreds of other resources. Thanks to our volunteer operators, anyone with a problem can call 355-7575, any time any place, and receive assistance.

For hundreds of organizations Helpline publishes a 180 page Community Resource Directory referred to as our Redbook. Answering the growing need for individuals who need access to a mini directory Helpline publishes special "Where Do You Go For Help" brochures especially for seniors, educators and our military families. It's is just one more way we can do What Matters right here at home.
